The role of the EBP
By involving business in education, and linking learning to the working world, we are able to add value, breadth and relevance to students' experience and help prepare them for their adult and working world.
In addition our services are designed to support schools and colleges in raising achievement, and to aid the regeneration of the Cornish economy.
We do this through a team of people who have experience of both business and education and work closely with schools, colleges and businesses throughout Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly.
The EBP works with 33 secondary schools, 84 primary schools, 2 special schools and four further education colleges throughout Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly. More than 2000 businesses every year are involved in the services we provide. This business support extends across all ages and curriculum areas and includes all groups of students, from those who are under-achieving or are in danger of exclusion, to those following GNVQ and A Level courses and students with special needs. In addition undergraduates / HND students are provided with paid work experience.
The development of enterprise, entrepreneurship and innovation skills in students is another key area, as well as our work for the Prince's Trust, on XL Network for disaffected students, providing the basis for their national model.
